We strongly value diplomacy and advocating for unique, bespoke solutions to complex workplace problems.
In 2022, this can frequently intersect with social media driven movements led by workers, usually from oppressed minorities. As a fully resourced consultancy, we have been providing pro-bono assistance to workers who feel unheard or dismissed or in need over many years, choosing to use our resources to facilitate amicable outcomes on their behalf. We have done this since the inception of the business, and have also done the same for many business in need as well.
In 2021, we became involved in a public dispute between a beer company and former workers, and subsequently produced a podcast about the matter. After this publication, a reconciliation concept was brokered between the company and workers by Hand & Heart. Since January 2022 this concept is being executed by Hand & Heart, with full approvals from the former workers.

In 2022, we opened a platform for aggrieved and affected workers of BrewDog, which also involved in a public, social media driven dispute.
In 2023, we released the platform report, alongside details of BrewDogs campaign of retaliation against former workers.
Based on the findings of the report, we launched a campaign to petition Scottish Parliament to strengthen proections for Scottish workers subject to (former) employer retaliation.

We understand it is not conventional for a company to provide these types of options to workers. However, we have always advocated that workers’ wellbeing is a driver of culture and potential in a workplace, and we assert it is financially beneficial as well. We believe it is important that, because we have the resources, experience and professional connections to better workplaces, that we also use those resources to drive change against resistance. We also note that creating broadcasts/media on the topics is similarly unconventional for a workplace consultant or investigator. However, we feel qualified to do so given the vocational expertise we can bring to the stories we publish.
